L for Leather

Quality Harness Maker

My name in Andrew Pinches and at 23, I have a passion for working with leather as a harness maker and keeping this old craft alive. I have been most fortunate to have learnt my harness making skills from the legendary Lee Grover after taking over his business L for Leather and moving it to Victoria.

My aim is to work with you to produce excellent harness to suit all your needs. L for Leather uses only quality harness leather and stainless steel fittings. My father, Brian works with Clydesdales horses on the farm to do ploughing, general farm work and has been involved with heavy horses for over 9 years. Brian demonstrates his horses at various events around the state and tries to attend events all up the east coast.

I have purchased quality leather working equipment such as an Adler sewing machine, skiving machines, strap cutters, riveting machines, embossing presses and polishers and lots of leather working hand tools. I have taken over Brian's 17m by 7m shed and moved his horse drawn equipment out to set up a first rate workshop.

I am importing a range of quality collars, hames and various fittings from America. I have been lucky to have a lot of assistance along the way from many people who want to see this craft continue.

I am conducting the business as a mail order business. I am attending as many of the field days such as Gatton, Muswellbrook, Jondaryan, Farm World, Churchill Island and other functions.

If I can be of any assistance please contact me via the email or phone.
